Volunteers are a very important part of any Film Festival, BLUE is no exception.

Who can volunteer?
Volunteers of all ages and abilities are welcome. Individuals, families, and groups are all part of the Festival’s volunteer team.
Can groups volunteer?
Volunteer groups of ten or more people are welcome. Gather your family, friends, or colleagues for a fun day at BLUE. If you are interested in organizing a group to volunteer at the Festival, email us at Volunteer@blueoceanfilmfestival.org
What kind of perks do volunteers receive?
In return for your hard work, you will be provided with access to conservation seminars, film screenings, and general social events.
All volunteers are required to commit to work a minimum of 20 hours total. Once the volunteer coordinator confirms you have committed to at least 20 hours, you will receive 1 BLUE Ocean Film Pass that allows access to all screenings, subject to availability. Plus you’ll receive a special BLUE T-Shirt to wear while volunteering.
Volunteers who commit to a minimum of 40 hours total earn a 2 Film Passes.
What tasks are volunteers expected to perform?
Volunteers are needed to assist in all areas across BLUE –from theater entrances to shuttle stops. Many of you will be on the front lines in a customer-relations capacity – answering questions, directing patrons or industry delegates, accepting tickets, checking passes, helping to set up and run various activities, and greeting attendees at our many venues.
Some volunteers will work in a more administrative capacity – assembling press kits, assisting with volunteer registration, acting as interpreters, distributing marketing materials, working at an information desk, providing technical support, or welcoming our VIP guests when they arrive at the airport. We will try to accommodate each individual’s requests for position but cannot guarantee the area of assignment.
