BLUE to Announce Finalist Films LIVE in Google+ Hangout

Sunday, July 22nd Hangout kicks off countdown to BLUE 2012!

On the heels of similar events for the CERN science team and the Mission Aquarius Hangout with Dr. Sylvia Earle happening July, 16th, for the first time ever, BLUE Ocean Film Festival is going to have a live Google+ Hangout on Air that you, as filmmakers and the interested public, can participate in.

The 2012 BLUE finalists have been decided and will be announced live during the event. Following the announcement,  leaders in the Ocean community, our Judges, and leading filmmakers will come together to discuss their involvement with Oceans, the film festival and what they are looking forward to from the event. Learn more about the groundbreaking initiatives that BLUE 2012 will offer for both industry participants and the general public.

Who's on the Hangout?

Among the ocean and film leaders joining us are:

• Jenifer Austin Foulkes—Business Product Manager, Google Earth & Maps

• Mark Shelley—Filmmaker, Sea Studios Foundation

Here's how...

The Hangout will be taking place on Sunday, July 22nd, starting at 4PM ET/1PM PT (US). You don’t need a Google+ account to watch the event, just open the BLUE Ocean Film Festival G+ page, and the Hangout will appear on a video player when it is live. You will, however, need an account and to add our Google+ page - http://goo.gl/TcM78 - to your circle in order to participate and ask questions.

If you have a Google+ page, you can easily join the Google+ event and follow the instructions there. If you don’t have a Google+ account, signing up is very easy and you can find more information about that here - http://goo.gl/GRBja. Just fill out the information requested and you will be set up with a Google account which will include Google+.  

When the Hangout is live, You can ask your questions by posting them to BLUE Ocean’s G+ page and they will be fielded by our host as time permits and answered by our panel.
