We are excited to announce that the Plastic Pollution Coalition has joined BLUE and BLUE On Tour as a strategic partner. We are combining our efforts to focus on the state of the world oceans and to highlight inspirational stories of success, with special attention on eliminating plastic pollution. Our strategic partnership focuses on two key areas:
1. Reducing the plastic footprint of the BLUE 2012 Festival and our BLUE On Tour events.
Plastic pollution is a global threat for the ocean, but also for all people, animals and the environment. BLUE has partnered with PPC to help examine our festival's use of plastics and environmental impact and help guide us in reducing our plastic pollution footprint. Change begins with us.
2. Track: "In the spirit of Rio+20: Solutions for an ocean free of plastic pollution"
BLUE 2012 carries a very special mission: to lead with a vision for solutions that will address the plastic pollution crisis in the ocean and the impact this has on human health. With special focus on measurable reduction of plastic pollution, this track will feature science, programs that work, and successful policy solutions.
